In 1974 Map of Cyprus was divided de facto when the Map of Turkish army occupied the northern third of the island. The Turkish of Cypriots subsequently declared independence in 1983 as the Turkish Map of Republic of Northern Cyprus Map but were recognised only by Map of Turkey.
